About the awards
The annual Awards celebrate individuals making a positive impact within their communities, whatever the context. We don’t use the term ‘Winners’ in our Awards as we recognise that behind every woman or girl making a positive impact to her community is a tribe of people supporting her in different ways, and the Award is the product of a whole tribe.
Held in honor of International Women’s Day, this event is organized by a dedicated team of volunteers. Over the past seven years, we have proudly celebrated over 1,000 incredible individuals through the awards, podcasts, and storytelling events.
To date, we have raised £9,000 for Endometriosis South Coast, PARCS Counselling Service, and Haven Women’s Drop-In Centre.
At the heart of the awards is storytelling—a tradition we deeply cherish. As Portsmouth marks its centenary next year, we want to ensure that our focus on storytelling remains strong while also honoring the many other exciting events taking place. With this in mind, our team has chosen to take a fallow year—a time to rest, reset, and celebrate inspirational stories in new, smaller ways.
We are incredibly grateful for your support over the past seven years. If the city tells us it wants the awards to continue, we will be back—stronger than ever.
Thank you!
