The Pamodzi Inspirational Women of Portsmouth Awards celebrate individuals creating meaningful, positive change within their communities — whatever that looks like. We intentionally don’t use the term “winners” but “Award Recipients” because we believe you cannot be inspirational in a vacuum; behind every woman or girl making an impact is someone who sees and celebrates them. This is the spirit of Ubuntu; I am because we are. Each award represents a collective journey

Nominations are open until 15th January 2027 and The Pamodzi Inspirational Women of Portsmouth Awards will take place on Friday 19th September at the Guildhall, Portsmouth. The Event will be raising money for Haven Women’s Drop in Centre. Tickets are from £70 and will be available very soon.

Celebrating 100 Inspirational Women of Portsmouth
As part of Portsmouth’s centenary celebrations, Pamodzi celebrated 100 Inspirational Women of Portsmouth — 100 women whose stories, achievements and contributions help make our city the place it is.
Photographed by Liberty Photography, the project was about shining a light on the women who inspire us, whether through their work, creativity, community spirit, leadership or simply the difference they make to the people around them.
We’re proud to have created a lasting snapshot of some of the incredible women who make Portsmouth what it is — and the story doesn’t end here. The portraits will be submitted to the Portsmouth Museum Archive as part of the city’s history, while the exhibition will continue to pop up in different venues across Portsmouth, so keep an eye on our socials to find out where you can see it next.
