Our aims

Pamodzi Creatives is a community focused organisation, promoting equality, diversity and challenging discrimination.

Pamodzi Creatives is a community-focused organisation that uses creativity, storytelling and cultural engagement to celebrate inspirational stories, promote equality, celebrate diversity and challenge discrimination.

At the heart of our work is the question Who Inspires You? Through cross-cultural community storytelling events, the Pamodzi Inspirational Women of Portsmouth Awards,  creative programmes,  and educational activities, we uncover and celebrate inspirational stories that connect people, challenge perceptions and strengthen community cohesion.

Collaboration is at the heart of our approach. We work closely with Portsmouth City Council, local schools, community  organisations, cultural partners and individuals who share our commitment to creating positive social change. By bringing people together through creativity, culture and storytelling, we help strengthen communities, celebrate local role models and raise aspirations for young people across the city. We believe that everyone has a story worth telling and that by sharing inspirational experiences, we can build confidence, foster belonging and inspire individuals to realise their potential and make a positive contribution to society.

Our Impact Report showcases how creativity, storytelling and partnership working are driving positive social change across Portsmouth. For every £1 invested in Pamodzi, £2.50 of social value was generated through our community programmes and partnerships. As we grow, we remain committed to reducing inequalities, strengthening communities and delivering collaborative impact in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Additionally, we recognise the impact of social issues and change upon young people, therefore we strive to create space to communicate the key messages from our youth. We particularly invite marginalised members of our community, to participate in activities they may not have previously engaged with, to address real or perceived barriers. Participants are always supported by Mentors to identify/learn/improve upon their skills and document their experience. The final production of all works are shared across Portsmouth, surrounding areas, and accessible online, to challenge, affirm and inspire others.

Jen Channer

Advisor: Social Media

I’m Jen Channer — creative director, brand strategist, and visibility coach. I help women build bold, beautiful online presences that match the power they already carry inside. This is about more than a polished brand — it’s about being seen the way you were always meant to be.

If you’ve ever felt like you were building something big while holding yourself together… I see you. Community means you don’t have to do that alone. It means when you wobble, someone’s there to steady you. I’m here because other women made space for me — and now, I get to do the same for Pamodzi.
